This year has been one of great operating systems for mobile phones and the battle between them which continues for some years now. The two main opponents of today are the Apple iOS 6 and the Android 4.1 known under the nickname of Jelly Bean. This continuing competition grabs the attention of many users as they are interested in the new features of both operating systems. While some are devoted fans to one of these two, others are more cautious and wait to see what the pros and cons are in this battle. But this battlefield is only to the benefit of the users and usually competition gets the best out of technology, while it can get the worst out of people. In order to understand better the whole Android Jelly Bean VS iOS 6 competition it is important to have a fair comparison between the two operating systems.
1. Looks and more
Many people perceive an OS with the help of the visual sensation and also the friendly looking interface. This is why the comparison of two competitive OS should begin here with analyzing the differences between the two. Even if some urge that the looks are not important, we all know that it is far from the truth. The Android 4.1 allows a base look ready for development. This means that it is good to build things on it. The capacity of the system allows the finest widgets, apps and even user customization. As they promote an open source way of platform, the developers are more than happy with this improved look. The whole idea is to provide a totally customizable home screen that everyone can use at their own terms.
On the other hand, Apple can boast with its fine looking layout. The screen is neat and it prevents clutter from gathering on it. The iOS proving to be faithful to its long term protocols and does not stray away from them. The whole idea involves offering a really secure platform by not allowing third party installations of apps and widgets. This can be somehow tricked with jail breaking. Unlike Android, there is no home screen for Apple and probably it will never have one. Anyhow the springboard might look a little bit boring especially for the old users of Apple.
2. Performance meter
The Android Jelly Beans is far better than its Ice Cream Sandwich predecessor. It has been cleaned of any shortcoming and aims for a smoother experience with Android. In this way, it is a leap forward from a rather faulty system to something more advanced. The response time has been improved drastically and the transition between apps can be done with a lot of ease. Also the multitasking works just great. Other things which were improved are the contact area which offers great photos of high resolution and also the notification center which has expanded and improved greatly. The whole sharing of media between one or more devices has been totally upgraded.
From the point of view of the iOS 6, the system is directed to keeping up with the pace of the user and the way he sees things. The only downside with the iPhone is that the processor is not as competitive as the one of other Smartphones, so it could use some improvement. The Apple iOS 6 shows off with FaceTime, Siri, and of course its own 3D Maps and even the flyover options.
3. The marvels of phone assistant
The days when users imaged communicating freely with the phone are here now. The Jelly Bean now relies on the services of Google Now, while the Apple goes for the Siri. The good thing about Google Now is that it gathers its resources of information from the very own services of Google. However, Apple does not have yet a search engine of its own, so it depends totally on Wolfram Alpha to give Siri all the data she needs. The new iOS 6 gives Siri to the gadgets like iPhone 4S and iPad 2 in a really improved version.
4. Client support and update system
In the field of updating, Android seems to have been lacking advantage. It has serious problems providing reliable updated for the various devices to run on. Also the client support is not really of any use, so these two parts really need to be exploited and improved more in the future version. This is why Apple totally rules this battle as the new iOS 6 has over 200 new features. The support is for all devices produced by Apple and the clients can easily get all the updates needed at any specific time.
While the Android Jelly Bean is a real evolution for the Android producer, it still needs to work a lot on being compatible with all the devices powered by it. It lacks constant support and compatibility and this is a drawback in terms of clients. The Apple, however, has released the best OS until now. It naturally continues the idea of the previous ones and still gives room for more improvement.
